The holidays are a great time for family and friends to spend some extra time together
This week, schools across Nottinghamshire are breaking up for the long summer break. The six-week holidays are a great time for family and friends to spend some extra time together and also make the most of the warm weather.
It can be an expensive time, as it is tricky to keep kids entertained and by week three or four we know many parents will be ready for schools to open again in September. To help make the break a little easier without breaking the bank, we have rounded up a variety of cheap and free summer holiday activities you may want to check out.
This includes activities in the city, as well as all of the other districts and boroughs in Nottinghamshire.Nottingham Beach has returned to the city with a sandy beach and pool area, which is free for kids to splash around in. It's just like the seaside but on your doorstep and there is also a Santoroni-themed bar for adults. Plus, it wouldn't be the seaside without ice cream, so there are all sorts of sweet treats available to purchase too.
