A major crash on the N3 on the Van Reenen Pass in KZN claimed the lives of 18 people last night, Northern Natal News reports.
Siboniso Duma, MEC for Transport and Human Settlements in KZN, confirmed the news in a media statement. 'We issued a statement today indicating that since last night, we have noticed an increase in road accidents along the N3, N2 and other routes as a result of heavy rainfall. In addition, we have received reports of heavy rainfall in low lying areas. This will result in possible flooding of houses.'
