At one point the victim’s body jolted on the ground as she was struck to the head
A 15-year-old girl allegedly punched and kicked another unconscious female nearly 30 times in a “horrifying” attack over a boyfriend, the High Court heard today.
Police called to Waterloo Street in the city at around 1.30am on February 15 found the victim with a black eye and complaining of feeling dizzy and faint.The court heard CCTV footage showed the teenage defendant knock her to the ground and continue the assault as the victim lay motionless. “She had to be pulled off, at which point she kicked the complainant in the head and her body can be seen to jolt on the ground.”“She then fixed her hair and lipstick, at which point she walked out of view of the CCTV,” the prosecutor added.
“The violence was gratuitous and she is lucky not to be facing a more serious charge as a result of this incident.”
