He couldn’t get Alec Guinness’s to remember his name
In Piers Paul Read’s biography of Ford’s Star Wars co-star, amongst general grouching about the film’s “rubbish dialogue”, it was revealed that Guinness had great difficulty remembering the then-unknown actor’s name. As he wrote to a friend: “I must off to studio and work with a dwarf and your fellow countrymen Mark Hamill and Tennyson Ford. Ellison – well, a rangy, languid young man who is probably intelligent and amusing.
He told the Hollywood Reporter that “I didn’t have any religious construct, but I think nature and God are the same thing. The mysterious origin of life – science tells us how it happened, prophecy tells us another story. I found that everything in nature – the complexity, the biodiversity, the symbiotic relationships – is the same thing other people attribute to God.
