Firefighters responded to 3801 Park Ave. in Union City at 11:44 a.m. and battled the blaze for six and half hours.
The apartment building at 3801 Park Ave. in Union City, which burned down in a four-alarm fire on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, is demolished on Thursday, March 10. More than a dozen families lost practically everything they owned when a four-alarm blaze ravaged an apartment building on the Union City-Weehawken border Wednesday.
One firefighter suffered a minor hand injury and none of the residents were injured in the blaze at the three-story building. The building suffered a roof collapse while firefighters were extinguishing the flames and it what remained of the structure was quickly demolished. The cause of the fire is under investigation, Ludmer said.
