The incident began Thursday night when troopers received a report of a reckless driver on southbound I-15 at 2300 North.The vehicle, identified as a black Honda Civic, was seen drifting in and out of the HOV lane without any lights on. According to a news release on Friday, the trooper initiated a traffic stop at 3500 South, but the vehicle failed to comply, leading to a pursuit that reached speeds of up to 70 mph.
Additional troopers helped in slowing traffic and deploying road spikes near 9400 South. A pursuit intervention technique maneuver brought the vehicle to a stop at 10400 South, troopers said.Officials took the girl into custody, and she was transported to the Murray Utah Highway Patrol Office before being released back into her parents' custody.Stay Connected
