A 12-year-old girl was shot multiple times early Friday in north Harris County after a group of young teenagers went to fight a boy, who pulled a gun and shot at them, Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman said.
A 14-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl were both arrested in connection with the incident, Herman said.Deputies around 2 a.m. received a call about a shooting on Imperial Green Drive and found a girl with gunshot wounds to the abdomen and arm, officials said. She was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Witnesses told investigators the 12-year-old girl had been one of five juveniles who drove to a home in the 20100 block of Gripper Way to confront a 14-year-old boy, officials said. During that exchange, the child at the home pulled out a gun and began firing at the others. Detectives found a vehicle the children arrived in a few blocks away from Imperial Green Drive, officials said. Witnesses said a 14-year-old driving it had run it off a roadway and struck a sign and cable box while fleeing from the shooting.
