The new Suzuki Celerio has been announced in South Africa and joins the under R200,000 market.
The GL version has more accessories than the GA including electric door mirrors, electric windows, 15-inch alloy wheels and a Bluetooth-compatible 7-inch touchscreen.
“As our most affordable model at the time of launch in 2015, the Celerio has won many awards, including the winner of Best Budget Car categories such as Cars.co.za Consumer Awards and the CAR Magazine Top 12,” said Suzuki. The addition of an Engine Automatic Start-Stop system and an updated engine with fuel efficiency in mind has resulted in the Celerio having an average fuel consumption of 4.2 litres per 100km.
In South Africa, this engine will deliver 49kW at 5,500rp, and 89Nm at 3,500rpm. This gives the Celerio 1.0 DualJet a theoretical output of 81 horsepower per tonne, Suzuki said. With the introduction of the new Celerio, BusinessTech looked at other cars listed for under R200,000 in South Africa:
