Blackburn with Darwen Council is to spend £100,000 on preparing a plan to decarbonise the heating systems of 15 more of its buildings.
“The fund, part of the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme run by Salix Finance and funded by the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero, offers grant assistance for the preparation of heat decarbonisation plans. The aim is to help public sector bodies gather the information required to submit bids to the PSDS for heat decarbonisation schemes by meeting the cost of expertise that may not be available in-house.
“This found heat networks to be a viable solution. The next stage deals with 15 ‘medium-sized’ sites from which support services to adults and children are delivered.
