100-year-old care resident has birthday wish come true meeting Emmerdale star Emma Atkins
A 100-year-old woman got an amazing surprise - when a star of her favourite soap visited her care home.
Dorothy was born on the 4th July 1923 where she grew up in Ramsbottom and was an only child to Thomas, a WW1 veteran and Helen Crowder. When it was determined that Dorothy needed residential care in November 2020, she moved to Lavender Hills Care Home, part of Millennium Care Homes. “This has been one of my best birthdays, I remember Charity Dingle, she brought me a beautiful bunch of flowers! It was lovely. The video was very, very good. I had a really great day with my family. Emma was really nice; it was a big surprise.”
