Professor X from X-Men '97 with Warlock and Longshot from X-Men: TAS
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT X-Men '97 featured a swathe of classic Marvel allies from X-Men: The Animated Series, but several famed characters from the original series were omitted. Throughout X-Men: TAS, the X-Men often teamed up with friends from X-Men comics and beyond, including some stalwart members from the X-Men’s line-up. Many of these, however, were absent from X-Men ‘97’s first season, and should be considered by Marvel for the second season.
Colossus is very likely to appear in X-Men '97 at some point, with an X-Men: TAS legacy comparable to Nightcrawler, who joined the official X-Men team in X-Men '97. Colossus would be a fun addition, as already depicted in episode 2, “Mutant Liberation Begins,” when Morph transforms into him to fight the X-Cutioner. As the X-Men team continues to evolve, Colossus could be seamlessly integrated, even temporarily, in X-Men '97.
X-Men ’97 episode 4, “Motendo,” would have been the perfect opportunity to reintroduce Longshot, continuing his association with Mojo from X-Men: TAS. Although Longshot did appear in X-Men ‘97’s adaptive credits for this episode, his only appearance was as stuffed toy that appeared in Jubilee's bedroom. Despite this, Longshot has a long history with the X-Men in Marvel Comics, joining the official team after escaping Mojo’s clutches.
6 Cannonball Is An Important New Mutants Member Cannonball Appeared In X-Men: TAS Season 5, Episode 8 "Hidden Agendas" Close Cannonball appeared in a late episode of X-Men: The Animated Series, where he discovered his mutant powers and used them to rescue several miners during a collapse in his hometown. Despite being asked to join the X-Men, he declined, choosing to stay with his family.
