9 Marvel Introduced Too Many New Characters In A Short Time Span With Captain America and Iron Man out of the picture, a huge power vacuum for the new faces of the franchise was created. As the Infinity Saga drew to a close, the MCU got to work introducing a slew of new characters in a short time span, with films like Captain Marvel, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and Eternals quickly introducing fresh blood into the MCU.
Once again, Secret Invasion's status as a Disney+ series already ensured that the epic saga wouldn't be getting the same amount of eyes a feature film would, undercutting the importance of the storyline in Marvel's canon. Not only that, but the show's departure from the source material was so sharp that Ali Selim, director of Secret Invasion was explicitly told not to read Secret Wars by studio executives.
In the comics, Ultron comes back time and time again as a world-ending threat that is able to contend with the Avengers far longer than the course of his MCU film would imply. In the series Avengers: Age of Ultron took heavy inspiration form, the Ultron Unlimited comic arc, he wipes out an entire nation with his ambition. Sadly, the Ultron of the films would be defeated all too easily, sorely missing the opportunity to excel as a recurring villain on the same level as Loki or Thanos.
