Star Wars: The Clone Wars had a massive impact.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT George Lucas’ concept for Star Wars: The Clone Wars had a large hand in changing how audiences perceive the Star Wars franchise as a whole. Set between Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, The Clone Wars provided vital context for the war effort, the Jedi’s role within it, and Anakin Skywalker’s progression from headstrong Padawan to fearless soldier and fearful husband.
9 The Clone Wars Showed The Birth Of A Complex Rebellion Though the genuine Rebel Alliance was only formed once the Empire had taken over, The Clone Wars showed that the beginnings of the Rebellion actually started during the war with the Separatists. In the Dark Times, the rebel effort is essentially split in half.
7 Obi-Wan Kenobi Was More Like Anakin Skywalker Than Either Admitted As for Duchess Satine, her role within The Clone Wars was more than just the head of state for Mandalore. She was also Obi-Wan Kenobi’s surprising, but welcome love interest. Though their history hasn’t been fully fleshed out , Obi-Wan and Satine met while he was still a Padawan, when he and his master Qui-Gon Jinn were sent to Mandalore on a mission at the behest of the Jedi Council and the Republic.
Additionally, it was clear that not all the Jedi agreed with the Order’s ways. Though Anakin’s irritation with the Council and Order in Revenge of the Sith is clear, Ahsoka Tano decided to leave the Jedi after they falsely accused her of betrayal, and Barriss Offee committed treason because she could no longer abide the Order’s stance in the war. The Clone Wars showed that the Jedi Order was deeply flawed, despite its best intentions.
While some might argue that the clone troopers killing the Jedi of their own volition made for a darker, more harrowing story, the inhibitor chips actually make the entirety of the twist more tragic. Palpatine had his hands in everyone – no one was safe from him, but the clones were targets since birth. They had no control over their future, despite feeling like they did. That’s even more horrifying than characters retaining their free will and choosing to turn on their friends by themselves.
