10 QUESTIONS | Pindiwe Mgijima-Mabhena author of Echoes of the Mountains: The Unspoken Champions
Pindiwe Mgijima-Mabhena, the last-born of seven children, grew up in the then Transkei. She left South Africa to join her exiled family in Lesotho, where she became a teacher. She later taught in Zimbabwe and South Africa. She subsequently moved into business and is now an entrepreneur in the renewable energy space.
Her first book, Echoes of the Mountains: The Unspoken Champions is about that family background, and how all her siblings left South Africa or were imprisoned during apartheid. She tells the story of her parents and their sacrifices in the fight against apartheid and shares her thoughts on what is required for us to make a better South Africa.Subscribe to News24 for just R75 per month to read all our investigative and in-depth journalism.
