While the MCU had several characters who shone in their first appearance, some have gradually grown better over time after multiple movies or shows.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Despite the Marvel Cinematic Universe introducing many compelling characters, some of them have only grown better with every subsequent appearance since their debut. Given that the franchise is over a decade old and consists of 32 films and nine TV series at the time of writing, the MCU contains hundreds of characters.
9 Jane Foster Natalie Portman's Jane Foster was one of the core supporting characters of Thor and Thor: The Dark World. While not a terrible character, Foster was admittedly bland in both movies, being relegated to Thor's science-savvy girlfriend with little substance to her character. After Thor: The Dark World, Jane Foster took a lengthy hiatus from the MCU before appearing in another starring role in Thor: Love and Thunder.
7 Captain America Captain America's MCU debut began in a similar vein to Loki's, in that both characters were well-liked upon their introduction. With Steve Rogers though, one of the biggest drawbacks of Captain America: The First Avenger was his somewhat underdeveloped character.
From the exploration of addiction and PTSD in Iron Man 2 and Iron Man 3 respectively to his mentorship of Peter Parker and his relationship with Pepper Potts, every appearance of Stark's since Iron Man has only improved his already-likable character. Going from the selfish playboy seen in Iron Man to the hero who sacrificed his life to save the universe in Avengers: Endgame exemplifies the change Tony underwent in the MCU.
