Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT After 15 seasons of television, there's almost nothing Supernatural has not explored, but there are a few ideas and scrapped scripts that the show's creator, producers, and stars imagined over the years that fans never got to see. This horror-drama has taken its characters back in time, to alternate universes, into fictional TV shows, into a cartoon, and through hell, heaven, and everywhere in between.
While Supernatural fans didn't get to see a magical fish, a similar premise was used in season 4, episode 8, "Wishful Thinking," assumedly as a result of Edlund's affinity for the idea. In "Wishful Thinking," however, Sam and Dean head to a town where a magical coin in a restaurant fountain grants wishes that go wrong, such as a little girl's teddy bear coming to life and having severe depression.
Given that the idea was for season 11, there were many other unique episodes in the season that luckily got to see the light of day. Some of these include "Just My Imagination" and "Beyond The Mat.
6 Naked Supernatural Episode "Naked Supernatural," despite the name, has nothing to do with nudity but rather would've been a Supernatural version of the crime comedy The Naked Gun. That movie is characterized by crass, goofy, and hilarious gags, something also sprinkled across Supernatural's 15 seasons in episodes like "Changing Channels." "Naked Supernatural," thought up by Ackles, Padalecki, and Richard Speight Jr. , formed in a text chain.
3 A Cat’s POV Episode Ben Edlund's curveball ideas don't stop at the "wish fish" idea. In an interview with Buddy TV, Edlund shared an idea he had where the monster of the episode was viewed from a cat's perspective, and only the cat could see the monster. He admitted there's no significance of the cat and added, "You never go back to the cat. And that’s why I need someone to stop me.
