Whether it's abandoned ideas that never made it to the final cut, alternate designs for characters and costumes, or even pitches for films that never came to be, DC movie concept art has it all. As such, various pieces can still be found online, offering glimpses of what might have been.
9 The Suicide Squad's Scarecrow Thanks to concept art for 2016's Suicide Squad, it was revealed that Jonathan Crane's Scarecrow was originally going to debut in the DCEU as either a member or rival of Task Force X. A classic Batman villain featured in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, it would have been really exciting to see a new take on the rogue with his deadly fear gas.
7 Joker Inside The Batmobile More Suicide Squad concept art from Ed Natividad shows Joker sitting in the Batmobile and antagonizing Ben Affleck's Dark Knight. Although Jared Leto's Joker and Batman were both in Suicide Squad, their dynamic was not explored in the theatrical release of the film. Based on this concept art, it seems as though there were indeed plans for the Caped Crusader and Clown Prince of Crime to interact far more than they actually did.
4 Batman's Hoverbike Ed Natividad has also posted his unused concept art for Batman's batcycle in Justice League. Although some of his other vehicle designs were used such as The Flying Fox and the Knightcrawler the bike was ultimately cut, though this may have been a good thing. As cool as it looks, a hoverbike for the Dark Knight would have likely been somewhat divisive amongst fans. Perhaps the bike design could be reused one day with a live-action Batman Beyond project.
