A single-person, single-engine Robinson R22 helicopter crashed into a canal near Carnegie Lake around 3:45 p.m. near Old Lincoln Highway. South Brunswick Police said the helicopter took off from Princeton Airport, about three miles away from where it crashed.According to the FAA, only the pilot was on board at the time of the crash.The front of the aircraft was completely crushed, as if the helicopter went nose first into the lake. Additionally, none of the surrounding trees were damaged in the crash.This is breaking news. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
