Fourteen dogs were saved, but one died and five are in critical condition after Delaware police found several people 'actively engaged in dog fighting.'
Five other dogs remain in serious condition, while eight others are being cared for by the Brandywine Valley SPCA.
The men, who were all charged with keeping animals for fighting, being present for animal fighting and cruelty or unnecessarily kills or injuries to any animal. They have been released from Sussex Correctional Institution custody after posting $18,000 secured bail, the Division of Public Health said. Part of the bail conditions say the men cannot have contact, possess or own any animals.
