A woman is dead and a man critically injured Saturday morning after an apparent murder-suicide attempt in a northwest Harris County Walmart parking lot, according to authorities.
Family members of the woman were witnesses at the scene and told investigators the vehicle the couple was in was a family vehicle the man had taken without the owner's permission, according to HCSO Sgt. Dennis Wolfford. They were attempting to exchange it when the shooting occurred.
Investigators located video surveillance from the incident and are attempting to corroborate the witness statements with the footage, Wolfford added.
