Police said one driver died at the scene of the crash Monday.

The wreck, which happened shortly before 1 p.m., involved a Ford Escape SUV and a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck on Germantown Road in West Milford, according to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and township Police Chief James DeVore.

Emergency crews pronounced the Ford Escape driver dead at the scene, near Hunter Boulevard, officials said in a statement. He was identified as a 58-year-old man. The driver and a passenger from the pickup truck were being treated for non-life threatening injuries at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, according to authorities.
