Police officers and special operations units converged in a San Jose neighborhood Thursday morning following the discovery of explosives at a residence.
San Jose Police said one person was taken into custody overnight on the 600 block of Potomac Court in the Vista Park neighborhood of South San Jose.
The unidentified suspect was arrested for possession of explosive material. Investigators were also probing possible narcotics activity at the location. A police spokesman said investigators would be at the scene for the next 24 to 48 hours because of the"substantial amount of evidence that needs to be collected."
Police said there was no public safety threat at this time and additional details would be released later Thursday.
