One person was arrested and another person is unaccounted for following an incident onboard a BC Ferries vessel Thursday night.
Nanaimo RCMP told CHEK News that officers responded to the Coastal Inspiration last night at around 9:45 p.m. after receiving reports of a disturbance.
Gary O’Brien, media spokesperson for the Nanaimo RCMP, said the arrested person travelled in a vehicle with another person, who has not been accounted for yet. He said, as a result, the vehicle they were travelling in was seized by officers. O’Brien said both passengers were known to each other and were travelling to Vancouver Island from somewhere outside of the Lower Mainland. He said he couldn’t comment on what may have happened to the missing person, saying everything at this point is “preliminary.”
