A total of $1.2 million in funding has been announced for two affordable housing projects in Shelburne County that will provide 29 new housing units in Shelburne and Barrington Passage. Stock Image - ContributedBARRINGTON PASSAGE, N.S. — A total of $1.2 million in funding has been announced for two affordable housing projects in Shelburne County that will provide 29 new housing units in Shelburne and Barrington Passage.
“The anticipated date of completion is spring 2023,” says Krista Higdon, communications spokesperson for the provincial Department of Municipal Affairs and Housing. Grand Multip Properties Inc. owns the historic Old School House apartment building in Barrington Passage and the La Baronnie apartments on Pubnico’s west side.
"This will have a profound impact on families in our region," he says."Our government is moving to provide assistance to those in our community who need it most. We are committed to strengthening our communities through projects like this. It’s investments like these that assist struggling families to keep food on the table and a roof over their heads.”
